About the role
As a Solutions Architect for Automotive, you will serve as a customer advocate and trusted technical advisor for Canonical's enterprise automotive partners and prospects. You will bridge low-level embedded software, BIOS, firmware, and cloud technologies to design and deliver robust open source solutions. Responsibilities include gathering technical requirements during presales, liaising with internal subject matter experts across Kubernetes and security, developing embedded Linux demos and PoCs, and translating customer feedback into market-defining solutions.
What you'll do
- Engage prospective automotive customers during presales to gather requirements and present Canonical's technology stack
- Collaborate with internal experts across Cloud, Kubernetes, and Security to build comprehensive customer solutions
- Participate in the delivery of select Embedded Linux projects, including demos and proof-of-concept builds
- Convey market requirements to key internal stakeholders to help refine generic solutions for the automotive industry
- Serve as both a customer advocate and a trusted advisor to Canonical while traveling up to 30% for meetings and conferences
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- Extensive Linux experience, preferably with Debian or Ubuntu
- Solid embedded Linux background, including Yocto or RTOS
- Fluency in one or more programming languages: Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust
- Relevant experience in the Automotive industry alongside strong client-facing presentation and presales skills
- Professional written and spoken English proficiency
