About the role
As a Data Engineer at Sporty Group, you will be responsible for designing, building, optimising, and maintaining data architectures and pipelines handling millions of changes per day. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, MLOps engineers, BI analysts, and product owners to deliver accurate, high-quality data across production relational and NoSQL databases, AWS data infrastructure, and event-driven architectures.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable batch ETL and near-real-time data pipelines handling millions of changes daily.
- Ensure high data quality, accuracy, and consistency across platforms.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements for data delivery and infrastructure scalability.
- Build new API integrations to accommodate increasing data volume and complexity.
- Collaborate with data scientists, MLOps engineers, product owners, and BI analysts on system architecture and feature requirements.
What you bring
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, BI, or related domain.
- Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (preferably Python).
- Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow and Apache Spark.
- Strong understanding of AWS data services such as S3, Athena, RedShift, EMR, EKS, and Lambda.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data integration projects, and data modelling.
