About the role
As an AI Harness Engineer at Tether Data, you will develop new ways to connect users to local AI and push QVAC to new heights using peer-to-peer technology. You will build agent harnesses featuring tool calling, agent loops, context management, and structured outputs, while designing resilient architectures that handle network partitions and non-deterministic model behavior.
What you'll do
- Deliver new features and bug fixes with a focus on reliability, performance, and user satisfaction
- Design and develop new tools and modules, enabling new AI capabilities across various model types and sizes
- Maintain high codebase quality through consistent coding standards, code reviews, and automated testing
- Implement and develop P2P technology for use with local AI
What you bring
- 5+ years building production software, with deep experience in P2P systems, AI/LLM tooling, or both
- Hands-on experience building agent harnesses (tool calling, agent loops, context management, structured outputs)
- Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills with experience modeling complex state from sync protocols to agent loops
- Experience building evals and test infrastructure for non-deterministic systems
- Deep interest or experience with P2P technologies, distributed systems, and designing for failure
