About the role

As a Support Engineering Manager at Canonical, you will lead a regional support team solving deep technical problems on Ubuntu and cloud technologies. You will drive operational excellence, handle shift scheduling, ensure SLA compliance, manage customer escalations, and develop team members' technical capabilities across Cloud or Devices support groups.

What you'll do

  • Manage a professional support team, including career growth, skills training, and performance management
  • Oversee operational control, shift scheduling, and team performance against key KPIs
  • Ensure customer support cases are handled within SLAs and act as a point of escalation for critical issues
  • Drive continuous improvements in support processes, service delivery, and the knowledge base
  • Hire and onboard technical support engineers to support business growth

What you bring

  • Extensive Linux CLI experience at a deep technical level (support, development, or implementation)
  • Proven leadership and team management experience within a technical support organization
  • Strong technical background or familiarity with Linux Desktop, OpenStack, Public Cloud, or Virtualization
  • Track record of high customer focus, handling escalations, and operating well under pressure
  • Open-source contributions and software development experience are preferred
