About the role
As a Software Engineer on the Solutions Engineering team, you will design and deliver open source operations code in Python and Golang to simplify infrastructure management on Ubuntu. Working closely with managed infrastructure operations running large-scale OpenStack and Kubernetes deployments, you will build next-generation infrastructure-as-code and monitoring capabilities across the entire Linux stack.
What you'll do
- Work in Python and Golang to design and deliver open source software operations code
- Develop and support automation across the full Linux stack, including kernel, networking, and storage
- Design and implement robust open source monitoring and alerting infrastructure
- Apply rigorous software engineering design, documentation, and automated testing practices
- Coach and collaborate with engineering peers within an agile development workflow
- Travel globally up to 10% of the time for internal company sprints and external events
What you bring
- Passionate software developer with solid proficiency in Python
- Sound knowledge of cloud computing concepts and technologies
- Practical working knowledge of Linux operating systems and networking
- Commitment to high code quality, reliable operations, and continuous learning
- Degree in Computer Science or related field, or Golang experience is a plus
