About the role
As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Canonical, you will treat enterprise operations as a pure software engineering discipline using Python. You will architect, automate, and operate hundreds of private cloud, Kubernetes, and application clusters running across physical and public cloud environments, working through the entire stack from bare metal and Linux kernel up to containers and serverless applications.
What you'll do
- Architect, deploy, and maintain OpenStack, Kubernetes, and software-defined storage clusters for global customers.
- Develop pure Python infrastructure-as-code automation and embrace model-driven devsecops practices.
- Operate and troubleshoot mission-critical services in high-pressure cloud environments.
- Drive continuous software and infrastructure upgrades to keep environments modern and reliable.
What you bring
- Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in Python software development.
- Solid operational experience with Linux systems, networking, and storage.
- Ability to travel internationally twice yearly for company events lasting up to two weeks.
- Experience with OpenStack, Kubernetes, or cloud management is preferred.
