About the role
As a Senior Quality Engineer at Circle, you will shape how quality is built into the product across multiple cross-functional teams. You will partner closely with engineering, product leads, and design throughout the development lifecycle to explore ideas, identify risks, and guide better technical decisions. The role combines hands-on exploratory testing, automated coverage using Playwright and TypeScript, technical debugging across CI pipelines, and high-level quality strategy enablement.
What you'll do
- Partner with multiple product teams across Circle to bring a quality perspective to UI/UX, user journeys, and technical approaches early on.
- Build and maintain reliable automated test suites across web, APIs, and integrations using modern tools.
- Investigate complex failures across applications, APIs, CI pipelines, and supporting infrastructure.
- Identify recurring quality bottlenecks and systemic issues to drive prevention rather than just detection across engineering.
- Help product and engineering teams make risk-informed decisions regarding coverage, testability, and release confidence.
What you bring
- Strong professional experience as a Quality Engineer embedded in modern product engineering teams.
- Extensive web test automation experience with Playwright, TypeScript, or equivalent frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience with API and integration testing alongside robust exploratory and risk-based testing practices.
- Confidence reading application code, debugging complex technical issues, and working with CI/CD pipelines.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication in English with high comfort operating asynchronously and autonomously.
