About the role
In this role, you will act as a security generalist responsible for shaping PostHog's security operations, culture, and tooling. You will triage Wiz alerts, coordinate incident response and write runbooks, hunt threats across AWS, close network-based observability gaps, and collaborate with product squads on threat modeling and secure design reviews with minimal bureaucracy.
What you'll do
- Triage and tune Wiz alerts to turn noisy signals into actionable findings.
- Lead incident detection, response coordination, post-mortems, and IR runbook creation.
- Build detection pipelines and close network-based observability gaps across cloud environments.
- Proactively threat hunt in AWS and establish telemetry to identify suspicious activity.
- Support the Vulnerability Disclosure Program (VDP) and guide product squads through secure design reviews.
What you bring
- 3-5+ years of experience in security engineering with deep expertise in AWS (IAM, VPC logs, CloudTrail).
- Hands-on experience with CSPM/CNAPP tools like Wiz or Prisma and building reliable detection pipelines.
- Demonstrated experience leading incident response and containing threats under pressure.
- High autonomy and ability to prioritize and execute without a dedicated SOC or rigid playbook.
