About the role
As an Engineering Manager for the BootStack team, you will lead engineers overseeing day-to-day managed services of customer private cloud environments, including OpenStack and Kubernetes infrastructure. You will be responsible for team health, delivery velocity, disciplined operations processes, and collaborating closely with stakeholders, product engineering, and global customers to meet strict service level agreements.
What you'll do
- Manage a growing engineering team to optimize development quality, operational velocity, and team health indicators.
- Implement disciplined engineering and operations processes across managed infrastructure services.
- Represent the BootStack team with respect to stakeholders, customers, and external engineering teams.
- Ensure team focus on priorities, milestones, and meeting customer service level agreements worldwide.
- Travel roughly 20% or less for team sprints, company events, and customer meetings.
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in a technology field.
- Proven track record in software delivery (using Python, Go, C, C++, Java, or similar) and/or managing operations teams.
- Proven hands-on experience with OpenStack and Linux system administration (Ubuntu/Debian preferred).
- Experience working in and managing distributed, remote engineering teams.
- Strong technical aptitude for complex distributed systems and cloud topologies.
