About the role
As the most senior design IC on your product area, you will define problems, shape product direction, and ship high-quality user experiences. You'll partner closely with PMs, engineers, and design leadership to build complex, multi-user workflows. Working with AI tools is central to daily design workflows at Circle—from rapid prototyping with code-generation tools to exploring product directions.
What you'll do
- Own a product area end-to-end: identify opportunities, frame problems, set design direction, and ship as a peer to Product and Engineering
- Design complex, multi-step product flows that balance creator needs against member experience
- Prototype and test rapidly using AI-assisted tools and code-generation workflows
- Drive craft standards across interaction design, visual quality, and detail execution
- Collaborate with engineers and design engineers to translate concepts into working, shippable experiences
- Influence overarching product strategy and mentor other designers across the team
What you bring
- 5–7+ years of product design experience with systems-level thinking and shipped 0-to-1 work
- Experience operating as the most senior designer owning direction and outcomes on a product area
- Strong prototyping skills and active, concrete experience incorporating AI tools into your design workflow
- High proficiency in Figma for high-fidelity design and distributed collaboration
- Exceptional written and verbal English communication (CEFR Level C2 / ILR Level 5)
- Comfort designing amidst ambiguity and iterating without waiting for comprehensive briefs
