About the role
As an Engineering Manager for Solutions Engineering, you will lead, coach, and support a distributed team of Python engineers creating open-source automation tools for private cloud and bare-metal operations. In addition to people management and hands-on career coaching, you will contribute code, facilitate technical delivery, coordinate across engineering and operations teams, and help evolve agile development practices.
What you'll do
- Lead, mentor, and coach a remote team of Python engineers distributed globally.
- Contribute code directly while advocating for high-quality design, testing, and performance standards.
- Plan and manage progress on agreed team goals, projects, and cross-team dependencies.
- Coordinate expectations with internal engineering, operations teams, and external stakeholders.
- Travel internationally up to 10% of the time for team sprints and company events.
What you bring
- Proven track record of managing, coaching, and mentoring software developers, particularly with Python.
- Hands-on expertise in agile software development, automation, and Linux server administration (storage/networking).
- Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts and infrastructure technologies.
- Strong organizational skills and commitment to high-quality software delivery.
