About the role
As the Engineering Team Manager for Foundations & Enablement, you will lead the team responsible for keeping Storyblok's wider engineering organization fast, secure, and consistent. Your team's internal customers are other engineering teams, meaning you will own core platform capabilities, developer experience, CI/CD pipelines, and security standards. You will balance product team requests against your own platform roadmap, lead recruitment and mentorship, and support cross-functional engineers across both frontend and backend disciplines.
What you'll do
- Lead and support a cross-functional engineering team with a focus on delivery, people development, and process improvement.
- Balance the team's technical roadmap with requests from multiple product teams and communicate trade-offs transparently.
- Maintain and evolve engineering-wide standards across security, tooling, CI/CD, and developer experience.
- Partner closely with the Infrastructure team on shared platform concerns with clearly defined ownership boundaries.
- Own recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and regular 1:1 coaching to support team growth and performance.
What you bring
- 7+ years of relevant experience in software development, including 2+ years in engineering leadership.
- Technical breadth across both frontend and backend engineering stacks to support a mixed-discipline team.
- Hands-on background with scalability, reliability, observability, security principles, and developer tooling.
- Demonstrated ability to unblock engineers, track delivery commitments, and handle stakeholder alignment.
- AI literacy with the ability to leverage AI tools effectively for productivity and decision-making.
