About the role
As a Cloud Field Engineer, you will serve as a solutions architect, cloud consultant, and software engineer for enterprise customers. You will work across the entire Linux stack to design private and public cloud solutions, deploy and test infrastructure, and write Python-based Kubernetes operators and infrastructure-as-code. This customer-facing role combines hands-on engineering, technical presentation, and up to 25% global travel for events and team gatherings.
What you'll do
- Work across the entire Linux stack from kernel, networking, and storage to user-space applications
- Design and deliver open-source infrastructure code using Python
- Architect cloud infrastructure solutions using OpenStack, Kubernetes, Ceph, Hadoop, or Spark on-premises and in public clouds
- Deploy, test, and hand over solutions to support or managed services teams
- Engage with customers directly through architecture presentations and technical training
- Travel globally up to 25% of the time for customer and internal events
What you bring
- University degree in Computer Science or related software engineering expertise
- Sound knowledge of cloud computing concepts and technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph, AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Practical, hands-on knowledge of Linux administration and networking
- Intermediate to advanced level Python programming skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
