About the role
In this role, you will help shape and improve performance evaluations and optimizations across desktop and mobile for key Brave products. Your work will span browser ML models, novel applications, on-device AI agents, and collaborations with privacy and security researchers to protect users from AI-related risks.
What you'll do
- Shape and improve performance evaluations and optimizations of ML models across desktop and mobile platforms
- Work on on-device AI agents, browser ML models, and novel AI-driven applications
- Collaborate closely with privacy and security researchers to identify and mitigate AI risks for users
- Create, deploy, and evaluate software in an open-source setting
What you bring
- Experience with AI systems research and performance evaluation
- Expertise in optimizing and evaluating ML models and privacy/security technologies for on-device performance
- Proficiency in software development practices with Python, C++, JavaScript, and/or Rust
- Experience with modern ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, MLX, ONNX Runtime, Core ML, or TensorRT
- Ph.D. in computer science is highly preferred, or equivalent demonstrated industry research experience
