What makes a company genuinely hire from anywhere?
Plenty of companies say remote and mean remote inside one country or a handful of US states. The companies here pass three tests: they hire across a genuinely wide set of countries, being distributed is part of how they describe themselves, and they hire for real, ongoing roles rather than gig tasks.
This list started from the Africa Rising "100 Companies That Will Hire You From Anywhere" roundup and was cross-checked against the roles we actually see on our own board.
- Hires across many countries, not a short approved list
- Says it is distributed or remote-first in public
- Offers ongoing employment or long-term contracts, not task queues

Will I be an employee or a contractor?
At many of these companies you will be an international contractor, paid monthly through Deel, Remote or a direct invoice. Some will employ you locally through an Employer of Record. Both are standard ways global companies hire across 100+ countries.
Sort out how you get paid before your first invoice. Wise, Payoneer and Deel cover most countries, and a contractor rate should sit roughly 20 to 35 percent above an equivalent salary to cover tax and time off.
How do I apply without a US or EU address?
Distributed companies care about how you work apart, not where you sleep. Show that up front.
- Put your timezone and overlap hours on your CV, not your street address
- Link to written work: docs, pull requests, case studies, a blog
- Mention past async or cross-timezone work explicitly
- Say you can work as a contractor if the role allows it
- Read the posting for country lists before applying, even at global companies
Frequently asked questions
+Do these companies hire from every country?
Most hire from a very wide list but not literally every country. Sanctioned countries are almost always excluded, and individual roles can be narrower. Check each posting.
+Are these jobs only for engineers?
No. Support, marketing, operations, finance, design and people roles all appear, especially at the larger companies and nonprofits.
+Is being hired as a contractor safe?
Yes, when the contract is clear and payment goes through a known platform or bank transfer. Be wary of anyone asking you to pay to get hired.
+How do I see their open roles?
For companies marked Yes, we pull jobs directly from their own job board every night and screen each one for location limits. Search the company name on Really Remote.
+Why isn't a company I know on the list?
The list focuses on companies that are distributed by design and hire for ongoing roles. Many good remote employers only hire in a few countries, so they don't qualify.
